A common dental problem is the loss of gum tissue, also known as gum recession. This is often a result of gingivitis and bone loss, which can destroy your smile. Fortunately, to address gum tissue loss, there is soft-tissue grafting.

Gum recession can be caused by periodontal disease, bad dental hygiene, teeth grinding and over-aggressive brushing. Soft-tissue grafting aims to repair reduced or receding gums.

Small strips of tissue are taken from the roof of the mouth and then attached to the receding gum line. This is performed with local anesthetic to ensure the patient’s comfort.
