For Comprehensive Tightening of Loose Skin, Consider the Body Lift

At some point, most of us have imagined what it would be like to have the perfect body. Many of us try to make that dream into a reality. We resolve to follow a proper diet, take up a healthy exercise routine, and regularly go to the gym. If you really stick to your resolutions, with some hard work and time, results are bound to appear.
Unfortunately, weight loss can result in loose, flabby skin and stubborn pockets of excess fat. No amount of exercise and dieting can reliably address these issues. If you’re experiencing drooping skin and unwanted fat, a body lift may be right for you.
The Body Lift
The body lift is a combination procedure in which excess skin and fat are removed from numerous parts of the body, such as the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. Through this body-contouring procedure, the surgeon tightens the remaining skin around these areas to give the patient a more defined and sculpted shape.
Before setting a date for your body lift, you will need to come in for a consultation with your surgeon. You will discuss your medical history and the results you are interested in achieving. You should discuss your expectations with your surgeon and he will modify his techniques accordingly. Always bear in mind that end results may slightly differ from your expectations.
In the time leading up to your procedure, it is best to strictly avoid smoking and to not take painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin, as these can lead to complications during and after the procedure.
The Procedure – What to Expect
You will first be given general anesthesia to induce unconsciousness, allowing you to be comfortable during the procedure. The surgeon will mark the areas where the excess skin and fat has to be removed. Once these areas are marked, the surgeon will make incisions along these marks, mostly along your abdomen, your groin, and along your outer thighs. Excess fat is removed and the tissues underneath are tightened. Once this has been done, excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin is stitched back together with sutures.
Post-Operative Care
Complete recovery from the body lift may take up to a month or even longer, since numerous areas of your body will have been contoured. During the recovery period, it is extremely important to stay away from any activity that involves physical exertion, including lifting weights and other forms of heavy exercise. Non-soluble stitches will be removed on your follow-up visit to the doctor.
After your body lift, it is important to follow a healthy lifestyle in order to avoid new weight gain. The skin will not be as elastic as before, and gaining weight can nullify the results of the surgery.
